Poems by Enfys Hankey

I’m back on the blog to celebrate the long-awaited publishing of a book of poems and songs written by my precious mam.

For those of you who don’t know mam’s story – she died of cancer in October 2009 and is still deeply missed by many of us. However, she left behind an inspiring selection of songs and poetry that she penned throughout her life. The words range from the fun-filled rhymes of her childhood, to the faith-fuelled lyrics of her life as she navigated its highs and lows as a devoted follower of Jesus.

Following her death my dad committed himself to collating, (deciphering), and publishing a collection of mam’s most striking poems and songs to both cherish mam’s memory and also share her faith with others. The book looks and feels great and, fittingly, is illustrated with photographs that my dad took.

Great job dad!

We have set the price for the book at £7.50 and all profits will go to St.Anne’s hospice in Newport who took such great care of mam in her final months and helped her to die with great dignity.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be dropping into various bookshops around South Wales to ask them if they’d be interested in stocking them, so keep your eyes peeled. However, I also have a stash at my house so if you’d like to buy a copy I’ll happily send one your way.

Thanks guys.
