Compassion Magazine

This morning the postman delivered the mail. Amongst the various bits and bobs that hit the doormat was the latest edition of the Compassion magazine! It’s always good to get the magazine as it’s a good read, but I was particularly buzzin’ about this particular edition.

Why?

Because it profiles the partnership between Hill City Church and our friends at BF201 in Burkina Faso.

I’ve pasted the article below. Hope it’s a blessing and an encouragement to you (NB you might have to double-click on the image to zoom in!)

  1. Fundraising methods is not something only the big charities can do. i.e run for life, comic relief, children in need, but also a small community church, its good to know what has been done with the money/time/ hard work involved in raising funds, too know how it has made a diffrence to others in need.
I believe most famous bible quotations on helping others in need is the parable of the sheep and the goats,….matthew 25-31-46,.. I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

  2. I do agree with Margaret it is the best quotation on charity. The people who attend hill city church and other that contributed is outstanding, their money and talents they have given has help others in need.
Charity is not always to give money it is giving of whatever resources we have in order to meet the need of another, like the sponsored walk or the organizers people in the back ground it is a charitable act. When Peter and John met a crippled beggar, Peter said, i have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus rise up and walk,..acts..3-6.
